Did you know felted wool is the oldest textile known? Learn the ancestral processes of wet felting in this workshop with Marianne Kirksey of Blue Swallow Clothing Company. Elevating an ancient process to an art, students will combine a colorful blend of natural fibers into a light, subtle, wearable art scarf. Melding color and texture by introducing silk fibers and yarns to fine hand dyed merino wool, then utilizing heat, water, and friction, students will complete an approximately 9-inch x 70-inch scarf and leave with the skills to continue their creative process at home! Ages 12+, please.
